Awarded in 2018 by James Halliday as ‘5 Star’ and the ‘Dark Horse Winery of the Year’, Boat O’Craigo is asecond generationfamily-owned boutique winery nestled in Victoria's highly acclaimed Yarra Valley wine region. With vineyards in Healesville and Kangaroo Ground, we have specialised in hand-crafting bespoke, single vineyard wines for over 20 years.

About the Role

Assistant Cellar Door Manager 


About You 

The primary purpose of our Assistant Cellar Door Manager is to oversee, coordinate, manage and supervise the overall operations and performance of the cellar door shift in collaboration with the Cellar Door Manager. Your core responsibilities focus on delivering industry-leading customer service, as a brand ambassador helping customers to engage with our brand story, driving sales and Wine Club recruitment, training and developing a highly proficient cellar door team and role modelling the leadership behaviours that create a high performing, engaged culture. 

Responsibilities will include coordinating team meetings, daily venue setup, management of bookings, rostering and staffing, engaging with customers, assisting with sales and ordering via POS, working in collaboration with area supervisors to ensure shift flow, stock management, end of day procedures etc. 

As the ideal candidate, you’ll have: 

  • An industry qualification (Degree, Diploma or Certificate); be currently completing tertiary/VET education, or have a minimum 4+ years relevant industry experience  
  • An RSA Certificate 
  • A passion for wine 
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Reliability, punctuality and enthusiasm  
  • A collaborative team attitude and a positive work ethic  
  • A willingness to learn and refine your skills on the job whilst being mentored by qualified and passionate staff 
  • The legal right to work in Australia as an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident 

This position will commence initially with a three-month trial period in a casual arrangement with a view to transitioning to PPT. 

Cellar Door Tasting and Sales - Casual 


About You 

Responsibilities of our Cellar Door Tasting and Sales staff will include assisting with daily venue setup, conducting wine tastings and imparting wine knowledge, recommending, selling and serving wine by the bottle or glass, processing food orders and taking payment via our POS system, promotion of our Wine Club to customers with a view to recruitment, as a brand ambassador helping customers to engage with our brand story, assisting with end of day closing procedures etc 

As the ideal candidate, you’ll have: 

  • A minimum 2+ years relevant industry experience  
  • WSET Qualifications in Wine is a distinct advantage 
  • An RSA Certificate, or the willingness to obtain one 
  • A passion for wine 
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Reliability, punctuality and enthusiasm  
  • A collaborative team attitude and a positive work ethic  
  • A willingness to learn and refine your skills on the job whilst being mentored by qualified and passionate staff 
  • Flexible rostering and shifts between Thursday to Monday, 10-5pm 
  • Willingness to work at least one weekend day 
  • The legal right to work in Australia as an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident 

Food & Beverage Hospitality Supervisor - Casual 


About You 

The primary purpose of our Food & Beverage Hospitality Supervisor is to oversee the operations and performance of the individual area and the team within the area in a cellar door shift, in collaboration with the Assistant Cellar Door Manager and Cellar Door Manager. 

Responsibilities will include assisting with daily venue setup, conducting wine tastings and imparting wine knowledge, recommending, selling and serving wine by the bottle or glass, processing food orders and taking payment via our POS system, promotion of our Wine Club to customers with a view to signing up new members, as a brand ambassador helping customers to engage with our brand story, assisting with end of day closing procedures etc 

As the ideal candidate, you’ll have: 

  • A minimum 2+ years relevant industry experience  
  • WSET Qualifications in Wine, an advantage 
  • An RSA Certificate, or the willingness to obtain one 
  • A passion for wine 
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Reliability, punctuality and enthusiasm  
  • A collaborative team attitude and a positive work ethic  
  • A willingness to learn and refine your skills on the job whilst being mentored by qualified and passionate staff 
  • Flexible rostering and shifts between Thursday to Monday, 10-5pm

Food & Beverage Hospitality Kitchenhand - Casual   


About You 

Responsibilities of our Kitchenhand staff will include assisting with kitchen start of day procedures, participating in food preparation, working alongside the kitchen team in food preparation, engaging with team to facilitate food delivery in timely manner to fulfil orders, assisting with end of day kitchen cleaning and closing procedures etc 

As the ideal candidate, you’ll have: 

  • A minimum 2+ years relevant experience  
  • A Food Handling Certificate, or the willingness to obtain one 
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Reliability, punctuality and enthusiasm  
  • Attention to detail, commitment to consistency and high standards of food delivery 
  • A collaborative team attitude and a positive work ethic  
  • A willingness to learn and refine your skills on the job whilst being mentored by qualified and passionate staff 
  • Flexible rostering and shifts between Thursday to Monday, 10-5pm 
  • Willingness to work at least one weekend day 
  • The legal right to work in Australia as an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident 

Food & Beverage Hospitality Staff (Junior Role – Under 18 years) - Casual 


About You 

The responsibilities of our Hospitality Front of House Staff will include assisting with daily venue setup, table setting and preparation, meeting and greeting customers and escorting to tables, helping customers to engage with our brand story, delivering food and non-alcoholic beverages, cleaning and clearing, assisting with end of day closing procedures etc. 

As the ideal candidate, you’ll have: 

  • An interest in hospitality, with a strong customer focus 
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Reliability, punctuality and enthusiasm  
  • A collaborative team attitude and a positive work ethic  
  • A willingness to learn and refine your skills on the job whilst being mentored by qualified and passionate staff 
  • Flexible rostering and shifts between Thursday to Monday, 10-5pm 
  • Willingness to work at least one weekend day
